چکیده

Fatigue analysis of aluminum-alloy welded joints based on the linear elastic notch-stress approach is presented in this paper. The International Institute Welding proposes two variants approach, one for thick joints, i.e., with a plate thickness 5 mm or more, reference radius rref = 1 mm, using FAT71 design curve, and thin less than 0.05 FAT180 curve. In work, feasibility proposed S–N curves, obtained mainly by fatigue tests axially loaded was investigated 4 subjected to bending. performed types joints: joint longitudinal fillet-welded attachment round sheet attachment. Determination of Stress Strain State Components of Butt Welded Joint with Mild Interlayer Subjected to Elasto-Plastic Tension

Determination of stress strain state components of butt welded joint with a mild interlayer at elasto-plastic tension is presented in this paper. Function of normal transverse stresses distribution on the thickness of mild interlayer and equations for determination of the stress intensity maximum value in hard metal at elasto-plastic deforming are proposed. The longitudinal stresses of mild and...

Development of mathematical model to predict the mechanical properties of friction stir welded AA6351 aluminum alloy

This paper presents a systematic approach to develop the mathematical model for predicting the ultimate tensile strength, yield strength, and percentage of elongation of AA6351 aluminum alloy which is widely used in automotive, aircraft and defense Industries by incorporating (FSW) friction stir welding process parameter such as tool rotational speed, welding speed, and axial force. FSW has bee...

Effect of different yield functions on computations of forming limit curves for aluminum alloy sheets

In this article, the effect of different yield functions on prediction of forming limit curve (FLC) for aluminum sheet is studied. Due to importance of FLC in sheet metal forming, concentration on effective parameters must be considered exactly in order to have better theoretical prediction comparing experimental results. Yield function is one of the factors which are improved by adding new coe...

Tensile properties and fracture locations of friction-stir-welded joints of 2017-T351 aluminum alloy

Friction stir welding (FSW) is a new and promising welding process that can produce low-cost and high-quality joints of heat-treatable aluminum alloys because it does not need consumable filler materials and can eliminate some welding defects such as crack and porosity. In order to demonstrate the friction stir weldability of the 2017-T351 aluminum alloy and determine optimum welding parameters...

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of an Ultrasonic Spot Welded Aluminum Alloy: The Effect of Welding Energy

The aim of this study is to evaluate the microstructures, tensile lap shear strength, and fatigue resistance of 6022-T43 aluminum alloy joints welded via a solid-state welding technique-ultrasonic spot welding (USW)-at different energy levels. An ultra-fine necklace-like equiaxed grain structure is observed along the weld line due to the occurrence of dynamic crystallization, with smaller grain...
